Rock MIDI Drum Tracks – Complete Song Performances

Looking for complete MIDI drum performances instead of individual loops? You’ve come to the right place.

While our main catalog focuses on MIDI drum loops and grooves that you can arrange however you want, we’ve been experimenting with something different: full-length MIDI drum tracks that give you complete, professionally performed drum arrangements from intro to outro.

So, while We are toying with the idea of releasing full MIDI drum performances in addition to our growing catalog of MIDI drum loops, we want to know what you think!

Think of these as “drummer in a box” solutions—complete song performances that sound like an actual drummer sat down and tracked your song, but delivered as flexible MIDI files so you still get all the benefits of tempo control and sound customization. To get this rolling, we’d like to present the full drum track performance for a straight-ahead rocker at 125 BPM.

Why Full MIDI Drum Tracks?

Our MIDI loop libraries give you ultimate creative control—you build the arrangement exactly how you want it. But sometimes you just need a complete drum track ready to go, especially when:

  • You’re demoing songs quickly and don’t want to spend hours arranging individual loops
  • You need arrangement inspiration and want to hear how a pro drummer would approach a full song structure
  • You’re working on covers or backing tracks and need complete performances that sound natural
  • You want to study drum arrangement to improve your own programming skills
  • You’re a songwriter or guitarist who just needs solid drums without becoming a drum programmer

These full tracks still give you all the MIDI advantages—change the tempo, swap drum sounds, edit sections, adjust dynamics—but with the arrangement work already done by a professional drummer.

Sample “Full-Take” Drum Track: Hard Rock MIDI Performance at 125 BPM

To show you what we’re talking about, here’s a complete hard rock drum track. This is a full 3+ minute performance with intro, verses, choruses, bridge, fills, and outro—everything you’d expect from a real drummer playing a real song.

Listen to the Finished Track (with music)

First, here’s what the MIDI drums sound like in a full musical context, courtesy of our friends at minusdrums.com:

What You’re Hearing

  • Intro: Double-kick flurry fill to intro the main riff
  • Verse grooves: Solid, driving rock beats with subtle variations on the double kick to maintain interest
  • Pre-chorus builds: Transitional fills and intensifying patterns
  • Chorus power: Full-kit, high-energy playing with bell accents on the ride and a few random crash cymbal accents
  • Bridge section: Dynamic shift with different feels and textures, usually just mixing in some double kick patterns when a little energy is needed (or we got bored)
  • Final chorus: Increased intensity and some extended fill variations (usually playing fills that wouldn’t work earlier in the tune)
  • Outro: Just ends, could fade out or bring back a reference to opening fill. Never could decide and just left it “open” to interpretation to whatever musical ending made the most sense to the end user

This isn’t a loop repeated for three minutes—it’s an actual performed drum track with natural variations, musical fills, and the kind of arrangement decisions a session drummer would make.

How to Use This MIDI Drum Track

Working with full MIDI drum tracks is just as simple as using our loop libraries:

  1. Download the MIDI file (link above)
  2. Import it into your DAW on a MIDI track
  3. Load your favorite drum VST (Superior Drummer, EZdrummer, Addictive Drums, etc.)
  4. Adjust the tempo if needed—want it at 140 BPM instead of 125? No problem
  5. Customize the drum sounds to fit your mix
  6. Edit sections as needed—shorten the intro, add an extra chorus, whatever your song needs

Because it’s MIDI, you have complete control. Use the track as-is, or treat it as a starting point and edit it to match your specific song structure. Delete sections you don’t need. Copy and paste sections to extend the arrangement. Change individual hits. It’s your track now.

We Want Your Feedback

Here’s the deal: we’re considering expanding into full MIDI drum track releases, but we want to know if there’s actually demand for this kind of product.

Questions we’re trying to answer:

  • Would you actually use full MIDI drum tracks in your productions?
  • How much value do complete arrangements add versus individual loops?
  • What genres and tempos would you want to see?
  • What song structures and lengths would be most useful?
  • How much would you be willing to pay for professional full-track MIDI performances?

We don’t want to spend months developing a product nobody wants, so we’re asking you directly: Is this something you’d buy?
